A LADY WORKSHOP TITLED “WOMEN IN BUSINESS” PART TWO

On 4th and 5th December 2007, Ms. Nawal Alahmari, Ms. Reem Albaeejan and Ms. Afnan Albabtain attended a Lady Workshop titled “Women in Business’; this workshop has been set up for Saudi business women under the auspices of the British Trade Office at the Chamber of Commerce, Alkhobar.

THE FIRST CAREER DAY AT KING FAISAL UNIVERSITY IN DAMMAM

2^nd December 2007

King Faisal University - Dammam organized the first student’s career day exhibition to assist them to enter the job market. The venue was a tool to present for female students the available opportunities to the Saudi women in various sectors commensurate with their qualifications and vocation for entering the job market following their graduation, Global Suhaimi Company participated in the first career day which was held in the hall of public lectures and the central building labs of the female sections in the university, from second to fifth of December 2007.

King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals 9th Registrar Office Competition

Global Suhaimi Company provided King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals with the 9th Registrar Office Competition prize which is a Toyota Yaris car 2008. This car is exhibited at the Registrar Administration building to be awarded to the winner of next year contest.

The Installation of Retro Wrap Material

Global Suhaimi is considered one of the leading maintenance and corrosion protection companies in the Gulf, specializing in the protection of steel and concrete structures.

This year, it has started installation of Retro Wrap Material on structural Piles at Saudi Aramco's Yanbu Refinery offshore area.

It is a cold applied, splash zone and sub-sea corrosion protection system specially designed to provide an easily fitting retrofit installation for use on sub sea pipelines and jetty piles. It has many advantages over other systems; such as: providing active protection by chemical inhibition, removable & replaceable to facilitate substrate inspection. Moreover, it resists abrasion & requires minimal surface preparation. It holds in place with flanged mechanical closures that induce "hoop tension" into the wrap fabric ensuring an inward force against the substrate.

Installation of Retro Wrap material is only one of much wide range of services and products that Global Suhaimi offers for all industrial and commercial sectors throughout the Kingdom.

THE BIG FIVE EXHIBITION 2007 IN DUBAI

The President attended the Big Five Exhibition which is considered to be one of the most commercially successful trade fairs in Dubai.  The event hosted nearly 2900 contractors, importers, manufacturers and distributors across seven sectors of the primary construction fields:

Building & construction, Water Technology & Environment, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration, Cleaning & Maintenance, Glass & Metal, Bathrooms & Ceramics and Marble, Stone & Machinery.

BUSINESS TRIP OF GM & SAM DURING NOVEMBER

The General Manager and the Senior Administration Manager of Global Suhaimi Company had a business trip to Manila, Nepal and India from the 12th till 25th of November 2007 to recruit new staff / work force for GSC requirements in the Kingdom.

On 15th of November, they visited the Engineers India Limited Head Office in New Delhi and had fruitful discussion about the possibility of joint venture operation on consulting services in the Kingdom.

CORROSION UNDER INSULATION CONFERENCE & EXHIBITION

4^th November, 2007

SABIC group of Company had arranged an exhibition & conference in Jubail city under the title of "Corrosion under Insulation". Different related companies had participated in the exhibition such as: (Binzagr, FSN, Saudi Aramco, Jotun, Oasis Ameron Ltd., Sonovation along with Global Suhaimi).

Eng. Amin Aref, representative of GSC, gave the speech about the ceramic cover Material CC100 and its benefits environmentally and industrially.

The company had a booth in the exhibition where services and product were represented, particularly the ceramic cover material CC100 (Ceramic Cover). They also distributed definition CDs of the product & company.

At the end, Mr. Ali Al-Hazemi (Material & Corrosion Manager) gave a brief conclusion about the exhibition. Mr. Khalid Al-Dosari received the appreciation shield on behalf of GSC.

NACE COATING INSPECTION PROGRAM, BASIC CORROSION & CATHODIC PROTECTION

In pursuit of improving work quality, Global Suhaimi offered three professional short courses in collaboration with the world renowned NACE during October and November 2007.

A basic corrosion course was the prelude followed by a CIP Course. The former spanned from October 27^th to October 31^st, while the latter started on November 3^rd and concluded on November 8^th. The final course was a Cathodic Protection (CP) test for professionals.

Invitations were extended to Global Suhaimi clients and suppliers to take advantage of such high caliber courses rarely offered in the Kingdom.

Global Suhaimi President attended a reception held by the U.S. Consulate to welcome Mr. Matthew A. Tolliver the new Political/Economic Officer U.S. Consulate General, Dhahran.

BUSINESS DINNER WITH GROUP OF KOREAN COMPANIES REPRESENTATIVES

Global Suhaimi President attended a business meeting dinner in Bahrain with a group of Korean Companies representatives. The meeting was intended to discuss the possibility of joint venture partnership to construct and operate FBE plant for pipe coating.

KING FAHD UNIVERSITY 7^TH REGISTRAR OFFICE COMPETITION AWARD CEREMONY

Prince Naief center at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals has witnessed the celebration of the 7^th registrar office competition award which was sponsored by Global Suhaimi Company. The event was attended by Dr. Abdul-Aziz Alswayan (Vice Rector for Academic Affairs) at KFUPM and Mr. Mohammed Alkahlan representing Global Suhaimi.

Global Suhaimi has awarded the first three winners Abdulrahman Mohammed, Hussain Bin Jawad Bin Ali and Mohammed Hisham Bakhurji a prize of 3000 SR each. Furthermore, the company has announced its sponsorship for the next the 8^th and the 9^th competitions as well as the grand prize of a car at the end of the academic year.

August 25^th to 29^th, 2007

Representatives of Chinese Companies visited GSI office and facilities in Chennai, Bellari and Bhuwaneshwar from 25^th to 29^th Aug, 07 to start business relation with GSI for Iron Ore supply from India to China.

Due to increased GSC activities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and to meet the growing site manpower requirement, GM and SAM visited Bangladesh & Nepal during end of July, 2007 and recruited a quite number of Engineers and Employees about 85 candidates for site works all over the Kingdom.

GSC group GM, Mr. S.A. Nizam visited China during July 2007 to meet potential clients, suppliers and possible joint venture partners for GSC activities, specialized in field of Iron Ore supply, Garnet supply, Wire & Cable Imp. / Exp. Corporation, Redractory Bricks and Steel Pipe supply.

In pursuit of Global Suhaimi’s continuous Quality training, certification, and approval from reputable International Organizations in the field of Cathodic Protection, the company approached and commissioned two professional sessions during June, 2007. NACE International Specialists have conducted two full courses in Cathodic Protection Program (CP level I) and (CP level II).  Global Suhaimi clients and suppliers staff was invited to take advantage of participating in these professional quality courses held rarely within the Kingdom.

June 5^th & 6^th, 2007

Dr. Steve Wilhelm of AGWR Company in association with GSC visited Saudi Arabia to present the Water Remediation technology offered jointly by GSC/AGWR on the "World Environmental Day" arranged by the Royal Commission in Jubail on 5^th & 6^th June 2007. He also met with some potential clients in the Eastern Area like Ibn Sina and SAFCO to submit our proposals to remediate their plant area underground water from Ammonia & MTBE contamination.

28^th May - 5^th June, 2007

GSC in association with Envirotorl Inc. arranged a marketing and technical campaign during the period from 28^th May to 5^th June 2007 Kingdom wide to educate industrial segment such as Saudi Aramco, SABIC, SEC, SWCC representatives with the benefits of the Innovative Insulation Material "Ceramic Cover Coating CC100". Seminars were conducted in Dammam, Khobar, Riyadh, Jeddah and Yanbu by    Dr. Allen Hoover of Envirotrol (USA) along with and GSC's representatives.

Prince Naief Centre at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals has witnessed the celebration on Monday, the 11th of Jumada I 1428, 28th May 2007, to award prize which was Toyota Yaris Car to the winner in the Rector Office Sixth Competition which was sponsored by Global Suhaimi.

CEREMONY FOR HONORING DR. ALI AL-DAFAA:

The Department of Forums at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) held a ceremony for honoring Dr. Ali bin Abdullah Al-Dafaa under the sponsorship of Global Suhaimi Company.

The honoring celebration for Dr. Ali Dafaa comes after his long career through which contributed significantly to the University and students in the important field and mathematical science.

The celebration started with a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran then the speech of the Rector Dr. Khalid Sultan, then the speech of Dr. Ali Al-Dafaa.

At the conclusion of the ceremony Dr. Ali Al-Dafaa and Engineer Yousef AlBloushi of Global Suhaimi Company handed over prizes provided by Global Suhaimi Company to winning students who attended the celebration. The prizes were a Laptop PC for the first winner and four (I pod) and five Flash Memory sticks.

Prince Mohammad Bin Fahad delivered a speech expressing his thanks to businessman Mr. Sulaiman A. Alsuhaimi on behalf of Alsuhaimi Company which is owned by AlSuhaimi family for donating 8 million Saudi Riyals to construct a hospital for elderly people with special needs (treatment & care for the elderly).

MEETINGS TO DEMONSTRATE TRAFFIC CONTROL TECHNOLOGY

April 24^th ,2007

Three meetings to demonstrate Traffic Control technology and supporting services were held at Company Head Office in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. The first presentation started at 9:00 am and was attended by Saudi Aramco Security Department engineers. The second one was specially tuned for technical aspects and was for Nour Communications engineer and representative in Dammam Eng. Yousef Alyousef at 12:00 noon. Brigadier General Mohamed Al-Jofan, Chief of Dammam Metropolitan Area Traffic Police and three of his senior officers attended a comprehensive presentation at 1:00 pm which included equipment and software inspection at Global Suhaimi yard.

INTERVIEW WITH THE PRESIDENT

Wa’el Almasnad, a journalist from Alyoum newspaper, had an interview with the company president Adel Alsuhaimi titled “Abdurrahman bin Saleh Alsuhaimi  ... Prosperity Journey from Unaizah to Jubail”. The interview was about Alsuhaimi family, especially their grand father sheikh Abdurrahman who had a great role as he led this family to the successful business. Adel indicated the strong influence of his grand father on him, then talked about the beginnings of this entrepreneurial pioneer in Kuwait and the challenges he and his brother sheikh Mohammad faced, as they move their business to Jubail. He also talked about his father sheikh Abdulaziz, the right hand of his grandfather in Jubail and Dammam, who was joined later by his uncles and cousins and continued the journey of success of their grandfather. Finally, Mr. Adel was asked to give some advices to new investors.

Eng. S.A. Nizam with Mr. Abdul Rahman Makki visited Nepal and India from 25^th March to 3^rd April ’07 to recruit additional manpower for GSC requirements.  First batch of 160 candidates had been selected and visa stamping is in progress.

 Also Eng. S. A. Nizam, GM had a business trip to Bombay and Delhi from 16^th April ’07 to 21^st April ‘07 and had fruitful discussion with potential joint venture partners in the field of steel fabrication (M/S Doshi Engg. Works Co.), piping supply (M/S Zenith Birla (India) Ltd.) and IT Services (IBILT – ACMMI Level 5 Company).

RESEARCH FOR THE NEW TREND IN ROAD MARKING

Saudi Aramco requested Global Suhaimi to accomplish the demo trail test at Aramco premises with thermoplastic paint BS 3262 : PART 1 : 1989 complying to RTA Dubai. The same was successfully performed on 28^th March 2007.

Mr. S.M. Hussain, Company’s Road marking Division Manager and Saudi Aramco’s Road marking research & development team, Mr. Waleed, Mr. Hisam Kattan & Mr. Mohammed Al-Asaidi attended the weekly forum, and concluded that the two component cold plastic paint in near future.

SPONSORING THE RECTOR OFFICE COMPETITION

Global Suhaimi Company sponsored the fifth competitions award of King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals registration office which was two trips to Germany -Hannover- to attend -CEBIT- Computer Exhibition. Two students have won the prizes; Hesham Abdul Khaleq Saeed and Ali bin Hussain Al-Aali

 The sixth competition prize will be a Toyota car. The winner name will be announced in May.

AMERICAN DELEGATION MEETING

Miss Amani Musharah , Miss Aziza Alzuraiqi and Mrs. Haifa Alsumaih, president’s executive assistants, have attended a meeting with the American delegation at Chamber of Commerce, Khobar. The participated companies were specialized on environmental solutions and power generation. Individual meetings were held with selected companies. For instance, Pratt & Whitney, power generation company, Green Power Systems, wastes Treatment Company and Applied Science Associates, water Solutions Company. The target of these meetings was to find out ways for mutuall collaboration between them and Global Suhaimi.

SAMBA FINANCIAL GROUP ACTIVITIES

Samba Financial Group delivered a power point presentation about the Saudi and International medium and long-term economic opportunities at Gulf Meridian hotel in Khobar, K.S.A. Mr. Mohammed Sardar, Global Suhaimi Accounts and Finance Manager, attended the seminar. The event was valuable and has given comprehensive information about Saudi economy, especially in the field of oil mega projects and forecasting of oil prices for the next twenty five years. Therefore, the group expected the international economy to flourish, which will result in vast investment opportunities.

WORKSHOP WITH AL AGHAR GROUP

 February 21^st -23^rd, 2007

AL-aghar Group has organized a workshop in Jubail to study the basic factors that can turn the kingdom of Saudi Arabia to a knowledge based economical society, along with the expected challenges. Eng. Yousef Al-Bloushi, Audit and Systems Manager, has attended this workshop on behalf of Mr. Adel AlSuhaimi, the company president, who was on a business trip at that time. The economic basics and factors have been laid for the coming ten years during these intensive meetings. The attendees agreed on a final formula for these basics to be submitted to his majesty, the custodian of the two holy mosques king Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, for his final approval.

Miss Amni Mushara and Miss Aziza Alzuraiqi, president’s executive assistants, attended meeting with a British Delegation specialized in security, at Carlton Moabied Hotel - Khobar.

 After displaying presentations by the participants, individual meetings were held with selected ones. The two ladies had meetings with some companies, such as Integrated Design Company LTD., APD Communication. LTD., and Vicon industrial LTD. The last two companies have a good and developed potentialities in the filed of safety and traffic control systems. A future project in the Eastern province is under negotiation with them.

Mr. Shaik Abdul Nizam, Company’s General Manager, and Mr. Yousef Al-Bloushi, Audit and Systems Manager, attended the meeting of the Arabian and Russian Business Council, held at the Intercontinental Hotel - Riyadh. A speech was given by his Excellency, the Russian president Mr. Putin, as he urged the businessmen to develop and raise the level of the commercial & knowledge exchange between the two countries, represented by the Arabian Russian council.

Miss Amni Mushara and Miss Aziza Alzuraiqi, have been interviewed by a journalist from Arab News during their meeting with the German trade delegation. This meeting was hosted by the German Saudi Arabian Liaison Office for Economic Affairs. The two ladies have expressed their satisfaction about what have been discussed in the meeting with selected companies, which was a good chance to exchange information about products and services supplied by the companies and meet the required specifications.
